【摘要】:Aknowledgeofwaterextractableinorganichalidesinoilisimportantwhendecidingwhetherornottheoilsneeddesalting.Excessivehalide,especiallyincrudeoil,frequentlyresultsinhighercorrosionratesinrefiningunits.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofsaltincrudeoils.Forthepurposeofthistestmethod,saltisexpressedas%(m/m)NaCl(sodiumchloride)andcoverstherangefrom0.0005to0.15%(m/m).1.2Thelimitofdetectionis0.0002%(m/m)forsalt(asNaCl).1.3Thetestmethodisapplicabletonearlyalloftheheavierpetroleumproducts,suchascrudeoils,residues,andfueloils.Itmayalsobeappliedtousedturbineoilandmarinedieselfueltoestimateseawatercontamination.Waterextractablesalts,originatingfromadditivespresentinoils,arecodetermined.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
